Aluminized Telescope Mirror, and Rough Assembly

My mirror arrived back from the aluminizing service, 30 dollars was a steal! Mirror looks great.  I have also roughly assembled the telescope, though I haven’t got it quite working yet.  The mount needs some work, as well as the position of the mirror cell in the tube.

The white pain job makes for a nice, clean completed telescope.

  1. HI JUSTIN;
    JUST SAW THE PICTURE OF YOUR COMPLETED 4-INCH, VERY NICE.ONCE YOU ADJUST YOUR MIRROR CELL YOU SHOULD BE IN BUSINESS. THE ALUMINUM TUBE IS SIMULAR TO MY 4-INCH. THE WHITE PAINT JOB MAKES FOR A NEAT JOB. THE PHOTO OF THE ALUMINIZED MIRROR LOOKS IMPRESSIVE. YOU AND YOUR DAD SHOULD BE VERY PROUD OF THE OUT-COME. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE RESULTS OF YOUR FIRST OBSERVING SESSION. THERE IS A IMAGE TEST YOU CAN TRY TO CHECK THE FIGURE OF THE MIRROR. FOCUS ON A BRIGHT STAR THEN THROW IT SLIGHTLY INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF FOCUS AND YOU WILL NOTICE A SERIES OF RINGS AROUND THE STAR IMAGE. IF THE MIRROR HAS A GOOD CORRECTION THE RINGS SHOULD APPEAR PERFECTLY ROUND. IF NOT THEY WILL APPEAR OVEL OR SLIGHTLY DISTORTED.

    HOPE EVERYTHING IS GOING WELL AT SCHOOL AND GLAD TO HEAR YOUR GOING TO AFTER SCHOOL STUDY SESSIONS ,THAT SHOULD GET THOSE GRADES UP. WELL JUSTIN KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AN I’LL BE IN TOUCH

    LOVE GRANDPA NEIL
    CLEAR SKYS…..
